Gone TogetherTM
It’s not our Destination, it’s our Journey.
There is no Destination.
Good day to you and everyone in the world. We are on our Journey together. We could sleep, be still or move and our Journey continues. In the last second, we have gone a long distance together to a place nobody has ever been before.
Our Sun pulls our Earth and Moon with our Solar System through space. Our Sun orbits our Milky Way Galaxy and our Milky Way Galaxy travels our Universe with many others galaxies.
We have gone together fast, very fast, even when we were still.
For a moment, just relax. Take a breath.
The old mobiles of the sun hanging in the middle with planets going around does not help guide our Journey. We still must shrink the scale for the sizes and distances, but we can view some movement with a video.
Let’s
While we circle 360 degrees around our Sun,
Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars orbit around
the Sun while our Sun’s gravity pulls the planets
in an orbit around our Milky Way Galaxy.
Sun – Yellow
Mercury – Gray
Venus – White
Earth – Blue
Mars – Red

Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars in Motion Together
—————–
Our Moon
Every hour, our Moon travels 2,200 miles or 3,300 kilometers around our Earth.
We live with a big rock orbiting our Earth at 0.6 mile per second or 1.0 kilometer per second, the speed of the average bullet.
Our Earth Rotates
At the Equator, our Earth rotates to our East at 1,037 mph or 1,670 km/h.
Rotation is slower as you go north or south from the Equator.
You can calculate the speed for your latitude.
That is why you have a cell phone with the cosine function.
Now is a good time to use your cell phone to find your latitude on Earth.
Or just shout, “What’s my latitude?”
Someone should answer. You can use the latitude later. See the Calculate page.
Sit down if all the motion makes your legs weak.
Or get ready to lay down because here comes the real speed.
Our Earth Orbits
Every hour, our Earth travels 67,000 miles or 110,000 kilometers around our Sun.
Our planet travels 19 miles per second or 30 kilometers per second in its orbit.
Our Solar System
Every hour, our Sun travels 540,000 miles or 864,000 kilometers around our Milky Way Galaxy.
Earth and the other planets of our Solar System are pulled by our Sun.
Our Solar System travels 150 miles per second or 240 kilometers per second in its orbit.
Our Solar System is moving eight (8) times faster than an average bullet.
Look toward the star Vega (mostly North), if you want to see if something is coming our way.
But almost everything is going in the same direction.
Our Milky Way Galaxy
Our whole Milky Way Galaxy is in motion.
Actually we are considered part of a Local Cluster or Group of 54 galaxies.
Our galaxy along with Andromeda and Triangulum are large and the others are smaller.
Every hour, our Local Cluster travels 1,332,000 miles or 2,124,000 kilometers across the Universe.
Our galaxy family travels 370 miles per second or 590 kilometers per second.
That speed is about 0.2% of the speed of light.

Instructions for Our Journey
This is a serious road trip. No roads.
Don’t worry.
There is room for speed.
The solution to any worries is a genuine GoneTogetherTM t-shirt with Speed or Attitude.
It shows you are enjoying the journey and that we have gone together.
Step 1. At real noon (not 12:00, but when our Sun is highest in the sky), sit in a chair or stand while facing North, so our Sun is behind you. If you are in the Southern Hemisphere our Sun will be in front of you. You are ready for space travel. A seat belt or crash helmet is optional.

FAQs
HOW ACCURATE ARE THE VALUES?
Everything in our Universe wiggles. Paths are not straight; orbits are not perfect circles. Moons, planets, stars and other big things slow down and speed up. Our Earth’s rotation is based on the diameter and circumference of our planet. Therefore, the value for our Earth’s rotational speed is shown as 1,037 mph and 1,670 km/h. The other values are rounded to the nearest hundred or thousand because the numbers are big, too long to say on a t-shirt and big things wobble. Our Moon almost travels in circle, but its still an ellipse. Try an app for your cell phone, such as Phases of the Moon that shows you the Moon’s phase and distance each day.
WHAT IS YOUR REFERENCE?
You.
Your reference in space and in our Universe is you.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE SURVIVING OUR JOURNEY
If you have a Gone TogetherTM t-shirt, you share the numbers with someone.
And then buy another t-shirt together.
WHY THE POEMS?
Poems help people who have Gone TogetherTM.
